A Quick Read on the Town

Plan a Saturday around the farmers market, spend an afternoon on Salem Street, catch live music at night, and use the real hotel options listed below.
Apex is a small town with a big nickname: "Peak City," and a motto to match, "The Peak of Good Living." The name comes from the town's history as the highest point along the Chatham Railroad line, and that railroad heritage is still visible downtown, where the old depot anchors a walkable historic district of brick storefronts, independent shops, and family-owned restaurants.
The town sits in Wake County, part of the Triangle region, which makes it an easy add-on to a Raleigh or Research Triangle visit. Everything below is a real place you can walk into today.
If You Visit on a Saturday
Start at the Apex Farmers Market
The Apex Farmers Market runs every Saturday at Depot Plaza, 220 N Salem St, at the historic depot. Through October it runs from 8 AM to noon; in November it shifts to winter hours of 9 AM to noon.
Browse fresh produce, meats and seafood, baked goods, and handmade crafts from local vendors, then walk a block or two to grab coffee or breakfast downtown. It is the single best introduction to the town.
